West Yorkshire nocturne #4

Through town on a
Tuesday night
there's a handful of
cars and there's me
There's flour mills
tall across river
and that river it's
rough like the
sea
There's streetlights
and traffic lights
glowing
There's canal and
ducks sleep on
the banks
There's supermarket
silhouettes showing
There are shadows
and I pass through
their ranks
There's blossom trees
overhanging the pavement
flags outside fireplace
store in the cold
looking blue
There's everything
one could want out
of living
I guess
'cept for joy and
the knowing of you.
